Designing a Different Way
The advent of metal 3D printing is changing the way we think and design for manufacturing. Desktop Metal revealed their production 3D printer at Formnext alongside their Live Parts software and Prototype printing suite.
Guests begin their journey at prototyping, seeing how designs can be quickly reviewed in an office setting. From their, they explore how the revolutionary Live Parts software allows them to refine their design prior to production. From there, the massive 16’ long production printer is on display in a factory-like setting.
Revolutionizing Product Design
A concept was introduced to help better tell the Live Parts story. On a table top are a traditionally designed part and a live part. Attendees use a slider to evolve the part on the screen and understand how Live Parts enhances a products material, weight, and rigidity.
